The University of London, recognized nationally and internationally as a Centre of Excellence, established its External Programme in 1858 to make University of London degrees accessible to students all over the world. When a student enrolls, he or she will be part of a world-wide community of over 30,000 registered students in over 180 countries. The programme is open to all students who are eligible there are no quotas for entry.
The University of London is a federation of 19 colleges and institutions; some large, multi-faculty institutions and some specialized like the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Individual Colleges of the University oversee the academic development and management of the degrees within the External Programme. External students are all examined to the same standard
irrespective of where they study, and are awarded University of London degrees.
Studying through the External Programme provides an attractive option for those with financial constraints, commitments to work or family, or lack of local access to higher education. |
